No one has done more to bring UFO reality into the light of day in modern times than independent reporter Leslie Kean. From her groundbreaking work on the COMETA report, published in the Boston Globe in 1997, to the 2017 New York Times paradigm-busting exposé on the Pentagon’s new investigation into real UFOs, Kean has been the catalyst for sober mainstream media UFO coverage. But…
I’ve always thought she was wrong that a new, official UFO investigation would right the wrongs made in the government’s first attempt. Now that her reporting has helped bring about a new inquiry, it looks to me like the same forces that derailed the first official government UFO investigation are once again in play.
Back in the 1950s and 60s, retired Major Donald Keyhoe, the first civilian UFO investigator, found that he was caught in the middle of a power struggle between what he called the Censor Fighters vs. The Silence Group.
Keyhoe was on the front lines of a power struggle within the Pentagon between those who wanted to get the truth out that UFOs were real and were likely interplanetary craft and those that didn’t.
Mark Twain said history doesn’t repeat, but it does rhyme. The government’s first UFO investigation, which ran from 1947 until Project Blue Book was terminated in 1969, was not an attempt to bring the truth about UFOs to the public and I don’t think this new one is either.
In The Day After Roswell, Col. Phillip J. Corso wrote that the public UFO investigation was used to gather intelligence on UFO activities for the Top Secret group called Majestic-12, formed in the aftermath of the Roswell Incident, all the while explaining away UFOs as mistakes, misidentifications and hoaxes to pacify the public.
This time around things are different, but, as Twain might say, the game is the same. This time around there’s an urgent need for some sort of limited disclosure about UFOs thanks to an exponential advance in technology. Everyone has an iPhone at their disposal that has Hollywood-type cinematography capabilities at the push of a digital button. (just recently, remarkably clear pictures of a flying disc were captured by an elderly couple in Argentina) Naval aviators have censors capable of detecting anomalous craft like never before. And they have. And they will continue to do so until there is no more plausible deniability. That day is coming soon, which is likely why we have a “new” public UFO program to manage the problem.
The Really Big Problem for “they” (meaning today’s MJ12-type operatives- whoever they may be) is that they’re caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place.
You can only deny reality for so long (see Lavoisier; meteorites). Time is about up and “they” have to do something. So they’ve re-branded UFOs as UAP and started to “investigate” all over again as if it’s all brand new.
In the mainstream media, word is that there really is a UFO cover-up, but “it’s not what you think,” according to Washington Post reporter Garrett Graff, author of the new book UFO: The Inside Story of the U.S. Government’s Search for Alien Life Here- And Out There.
“After spending two whole years looking into it, Graff assures us the only thing military intelligence has to hide is how little it knows about UFOs,” wrote longtime UFO reporter Billy Cox recently on his substack. “Too bad that people who still read books in 2023 will likely take Graffe’s naïve regurgitation of official explanations as the final word,” said Cox, noting that the Atlantic article “implicitly assigned oracular status” to the WaPo’s Graff, who then embarked on an extensive media tour.
Again, it’s the classic intelligence ploy- the modified limited hangout. Yeah- UFOs are real, but we don’t know what they are, and- we have no evidence that their extraterrestrial. This is the message coming from the Mainstream media. It’s mostly B.S., but that’s what their selling- for now.
Nevermind the recent congressional testimony of former intelligence officer David Grusch about the Military-Industrial Complex ‘s secret UFO crash retrieval program in which dead ET pilots have been recovered. Nevermind Corso and Hellyer. Nevermind Greer and the Disclosure Project and its hundreds of MIC whistleblowers- and forget 77-plus years of UFO history meticulously documented by historians and investigators like Richard Dolan, Stanton Friedman and others.
This is the kind of FUBAR that happens when you have to have Disclosure, but you can’t have Disclosure- when you have to have transparency, but you can’t have transparency- when you have to face the truth, but you can’t face the truth…
…and the truth is still coming, like Lavoisier’s meteorites, and the doomsday comet destined to hit the Earth in the Netflix movie Don’t Look Up.
It’s a UFO disclosure pretzel and our public servants are all tied in knots.
